    Foster the People have been all the craze lately. The first time I listened to them it only took 30 seconds in on the first track for me to be grooving. Usually it’s easy to be doubtful, but these guys nailed it. The three tracks I’ve selected are from the 2011 Torches album. They fit right along Songs for Singing. The uplifting lyrics are perfect for cranking up the volume and enjoying the summertime breeze.

    If you’ve been hanging around here long enough you may have heard of Songs for Singing. The original premise behind it was to share songs that have lyrics and can be sung along with. Sometimes an occasional ambient track set will slip in. Songs for Singing is really just another way for me to share my favorite artists with you at the hopes you’ll enjoy them equally as much.

    On deck is the 2009 Mute Math album titled Armistice. Numerous times I’ve found myself really diving deep into my design when the track Clockwork plays. Itunes claims the genre as “Rock”; I call it Rockin. Now it’s your turn to be the judge. If you have any suggestions for Songs for Singing, let me know.

    For the longest time this video by Air France titled No Excuses, has been in my post queue. The track itself is really uplifting and shot after shot of the open water on a cloudy day just feels soothing. If you don’t have the album I’d recommend it.

    Ever find yourself listening to songs so much that you don’t spend time watching their music videos? That is exactly how I’ve been with tracks from Com Truise. It’s safe to say that its been a handful of months since I set my eyes on his video visuals—talk about missing out on some wackiness. On another note, the first track on this playlist is really powerful.

    Episode #15 was just released by Nueva Forma. Slightly different from the last, this episode quickens the tempo with more clear beats and less musical ambience than the previous episode.

    As I listen the 39th minute has just rolled in, scooping me up and taking me on a journey. Where I’m unsure, but the moment you hit 39:00 you’ll know where I’ve gone.

    Hot damn, Nueva Forma is on fire. Episode 14 comes to us with pleasurable sounds curated by Creta. As I write and listen I’ve turned off all light sources. I’m sitting in complete darkness. The mood has been set; the sounds are reverberating off the walls and deep into my mind. The only addition this episode could possibly include is glow in the dark ceiling stars.

    If you haven’t seen The Social Network yet, I highly recommend it. Initially I was skeptical—I mean how good could a movie about Facebook possibly be? The answer is, truly inspiring. There is something about seeing success happen that triggers the “let’s make things happen” part of my brain. Fewer and fewer movies give me anything close to that level of inspiration.

    Not only is the movie worth the watch, the soundtrack by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross is also worth the download. Luckily for us the sampler is available for free and the full 19-track album is only five bucks.

    The one group that truly needed to be in Songs for Singing, was Ghostland Observatory. This funky, electronic, rock group is out of Austin, Texas. Although their first album was a hit or miss, I assure you their second and third are as I’ve rocked out to them many times. Aaron Kyle Behrens mans the vocals and guitar while Thomas Turner is on the drums, synth and provides backup vocals.

    The songs compiled here are from two different albums; Paparazzi Lightning (2006) and Robotique Majestique (2008). A third album is supposedly in the works.
