USB Film Roll

May 13th, 2011

Here is another great little idea by Photojojo. Remember their last? It was a Canon lens mug. This time however, they’re repurposing the film canisters for USB drive holders. Each canister holds a 4GB drive.

I love it but does a film canister REALLY plug into a macbook and rest perfectly flush? They look far too big to do that?

Cute, but not a very well thought out product. It is indeed way too fat to sit in a MacBook Pro on a desk or table (hence their picture of it held in the air). Also, it will block the other USB ports, which on my MBP is 1 other, which is really bad.

Yeah, way too big, but cool looking.

They look great, but yeah they’re too big for a macbook. It did inspire me to make a usb stick with 120 film. So thanks for the post! http://twitpic.com/4xj2sd That fits a bit better into a macbook usb port, still not perfect though. Thinking of sawing 120 film into 2 pieces and making a usbstick out of that :)

I’d like to offer a cheesy solution to this. . . . USB film cartridges that load into a camera-turned-DOCK! boom?

I love it. But idea yet.
