I love this stuff, it’s like it exists in a different universe.
Ian I’m right with you there. I really wish I knew more about how each of these images were created (camera, film & process, etc). Knowing some of that info I think would be very cool.
I SERIOUSLY LOVE THESE FUCKING PHOTOS!
It’s just old film. The manufacturing process was different then, so it’s really hard to match unless you have a grandpa with a freezer full of the stuff.
You can get the old process black and white still though … All the russian manufacturers haven’t changed their process since the 50s… so it looks about the same as most US manufactured black and white from around then.
This company sells the film … I also think they have some forums where you could try and get some tips on how to match those photos.
