These images are of a 1960’s magazine called Venture. It’s a shame there really isn’t that much information about the magazine.

These almost look like they have some sort of linen texture. Now I know that not to be the case, but wouldn’t that be cool?

  2. It really does look like linen doesn’t it! That would make the feel of this mag quite amazing.

Do you have the actual magazines or are these just something you stumbled upon surfing the internet waves?

  4. Matthew says:

They are linen, because it was a hardcover serial publication put out by the Cowles Communications group from the 1960’s through the early 70’s. You can still find editions on Amazon and Ebay.

This is a really cool magazine. I have a copy myself, and it has wonderful illustrations and quite a nice layout. Too bad indeed.

  6. Debra says:

A dear family friend got me a subscription to this when it was first published so I have only the very early issues. The covers are lenticular images which to a nine year old were very, very cool. I still have them and re-read them on occasion. Having them at an early age was an inspiration to travel, which I did. It was a beautiful magazine, and funny, too.
