Songs for Singing + Empire of the Sun

March 27th, 2009

Empire of the Sun
Without a doubt, Empire of the Sun – Walking on a Dream is one of the most intriguing and inspirational albums I’ve heard in the past two years. From the start of this post till now, I’ve listened to ‘We Are The People’ three times. Their dreamy electro pop style is extremely catchy; check out their videos below. Simply amazing outfits and sets–very culturally influenced.

Keep in mind these are Songs for Singing. Open the lyric sheets, turn up your volume and start the song!

Where the Wild Things Are Trailer

March 25th, 2009

The trailer for Where the Wild Things Are is here. This trailer is great and the movie will be even better. There has been a lot of skepticism about whether or not the film will be as big of hit as anticipated. For now, while we wait, check out the trailer, or if you prefer in HD, on Apple.

Also take a look below at the similarities of the teaser images to the original illustrations from the book.

Corbis Brand Evolution

March 17th, 2009

We’ve seen more rebranding in the last few months than we can shake a stick at. Without a doubt, this rebranding epidemic was caused by the economic situation and the positive notion of change. This is great for some who try it, but not so great for others; Tropicana, Mountain Dew, Sprite, and Blimpie are some of which just aren’t that great. On to the good branding… >>>CONTINUE READING FULL POST

SanDisk in Style for Once

March 9th, 2009

For the years I’ve been into photography, I’ve never seen a card reader with a great design. I believe that SanDisk has hit on something here with their new multicard readers. The design is more modern than the previous and has a high fashion look to it. Personally I haven’t seen the new card readers, and I’m slightly concerned about the functionality and sturdiness of them. Does anyone have any information on these? What do you think about them and would you make the upgrade?

Songs for Singing + Head Like A Kite

March 2nd, 2009

Head Like A Kite

Head Like A Kite is Dave Einmo, joined by drummer Trent Moorman, and in the studio by a cast of musical friends. Their combined efforts result in a blend of progressive, instrumental, poppy electronic music. Head Like A Kite debuted in 2006 with the Pattern 25 release, Random Portraits of the Home Movie, an album built from samples of Super-8 home movies from the 70’s. What a great band to add to the Songs for Singing collection, check out a song and live performance below.
