YouTube Preview ImageThe Marcus Eaton Trio is comprised of three members. A bassist–James, guitar & singer–Marcus, and a percussionist–Kevin. Each of them have amazing talent and as a band are putting out great music. I was first introduced to the music about a year ago by Dave. Dave and I worked together to get some shots for the band and since then I’ve been helping the band out. It’s great to get a chance to be part of something that I really enjoy listening to. Check out these older posts on Dave’s blog: Marcus Eaton Trio, Trio Promo and Published Premier Guitar.

The show was at The Gorge and Marcus played before Dave Matthews went on stage. Once again, great performance by the band. They were joined part way through by DM member, Tim Reynolds.

Cataldo

Cataldo

Keeping very busy lately and letting music collect dust in my iTunes Library. I have a few songs here from Cataldo. I’m not sure how to describe the music besides having a touch of a poppy and acoustic feel. His new album Signal Flare, is out though and available on iTunes and through the Cataldo website.

Lightning Sunset

August 17th, 2008

No not really, but wouldn’t that be cool? We didn’t have them both at the same time but rather a day apart. The first shot I’m posting, was shot over on Beacon Hill looking towards downtown Seattle. I shot it using a .9 (3 stop) GND (graduated neutral density) filter. The reason for using this type of filter is so I could properly expose the ground and still keep the sky from overexposing.

Beacon Hill Sunset

Last night, technically this morning, was the first time I’d actually seen lightning strikes this close to Seattle. The lightning was about 10 miles off at one point. The best of the show was at about 4AM, going till about 4:30AM.

I have posted some random photos below from the weekend as well. They are from the same night as the first sunset photo I posted up above.

Santogold – L.E.S. Artistes

August 10th, 2008

There are music artists that you can listen to everyday, three times a day. Santogold is one of those artists that has such an awesome voice and puts out great tracks. One of my favorite songs of hers is L.E.S. Artistes.

I found the music video to the song on youtube and posted it below. The video is driven by one of her life experiences, giving it such a personal feel. I also have posted another song below to listen to when the video has finished.

Search & Ride

August 10th, 2008

You tend to not realize how large a city is until you can’t find what you’re looking for. These past two weekends a friend and myself have been looking for some bmx trails/jumps that I was told were on Queen Anne. Well needless to say, we didn’t find the trails, but we did stumbled upon quite a few great locations to shoot photos and some interesting vantage points looking over Seattle as well as a more northern look towards the University of Washington.

Lake Union Seattle

This shot has nothing to do with the search except for the fact that you can see just how large Queen Anne is. Check out the Map print out below.

Seattle Searching

The darkened area is the area that we covered twice. The area where the lines are drawn is the area that we only passed through. If anyone knows the whereabouts of these so-called trails, please leave a comment or send me an email.
