Villa Midgard

DAPstockholm Architects created this large, structured, steel home in Stockholm, Sweden. For a home that seemingly looms over the land with its rustic exterior, the interior of the home is surprisingly bright and welcoming.

I love modern homes, and this one is quite beautiful. I don’t know why I’m drawn to say this, but I have only one problem with modern homes. I do enjoy looking at them, how they are built, the style, but I would never in my life live in one. If I could build any home for myself, it wouldn’t be a modern style home, even though they are my favorite to the eye. Maybe that is only me.

I love modern style homes too, but I would definitely live in one as well. Maybe not as large as this example, but I like living space with lots of open area and clean surfaces. I’m not a fan of carpet or wall textures, so a home with interior surfaces like this one would be ideal. Also, as unpopular as it may be, I don’t like the new trent of homes that blend in with their environment. I like strong geometric architecture that is a complete departure from it’s organic surroundings.
