The Ross Residence

January 1st, 2012

Griffin Enright Architects built this unique house nestled between a stream and hillside outside of Ross, California. The most interesting aspect to this house is the split roof that allows for more light to stream in and also for a more intimate interior spaces.

This is amazing. I love to see houses that use clever design to fit a lot into a relatively small space; I feel like a lot of houses built today lack the cozy factor that this house embraces so well.

The look could easily be adapted to Japan. There is a simple, well defined style and I have added it to my scrapbook of houses that inspire me.
