Tycho Live Band 35mm Photography + Portland + Seattle

October 2nd, 2011

Over the last two months I’ve been shooting my Yashica T4 35mm exclusively. Something about about the very raw film and lack of manual exposure control on the camera really makes me never want to put it down. Since it’s pocket-sized, I’m able to cary it around daily. Shooting with it lately has challenged me to make sure I get the shot the first time.

This series of photographs I shot are of the Tycho live band. Some were taken at the Crown Room in Portland and then others at Bumbershoot in Seattle.

Hey Shelby, what are some of your suggestions for film for the Yashica T4, both color and bw?

Here is a list of the films I believe I’ve put through it. Sadly, my Yashica was lost on a flight to Montreal. Long live the Yash:

    • tri x 400 or 800 comes in BW
    • kodak portra 160 NC
    • fuji pro 400h
    • Velvia 100 E6 for cross process
    • kodak ektar super saturated
    • kodak tmax 400 or 100 for the tri x look

Thanks man. Just bought one and I cannot wait to try it out. Heard good things about most of the film you mentioned. What about HP5 film, any knowledge on this particular film?

@B3PO I think I shot a roll of that once, but to be honest I can’t recall what the results were…
